John DeSousa is an artist living and working in Kingston, NY.

A thread of playfulness and precarity weaves throughout his interdisciplinary practice. Having an experimental relationship with his materials, he wrestles with collapse and reconciliation through processes such as sewing, printing, jamming, gluing, wrapping, pulling, rearranging, and deconstructing.  His goal is a balance, one that reveals an undercurrent of both pleasure and uncertainty.  John received his MFA in 2023 from the New York State University at Albany and his BFA in 2019 in Studio Art, Screen Printing and Photography with a minor in Art History (Magna Cum Laude) at the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY.
