Lexa Walsh is an artist with a background in sculpture and social practice whose work blends material experimentation with radical hospitality.
Through site-specific projects, objects, and collaborations, she creates platforms for dialogue, collective experience, and new forms of belonging.
Walsh has exhibited and performed internationally for over 25 years across museums, public spaces, and artist-run contexts. She holds an MFA in Art & Social Practice from Portland State University and a BFA in Ceramics from California College of Arts and Crafts, and has received awards from institutions including the de Young Museum, SFMOMA, Southern Exposure, and Kala Art Institute.
Her upbringing as the youngest of fifteen children in a family of elite athletes — and her immersion in the post-punk, DIY scene of the 1990s — continues to inform her interest in alternative communities, economies, and collective creativity. Walsh recently relocated from Oakland, CA to the Hudson Valley.
