Johannah Herr is an interdisciplinary artist whose work confronts the aesthetics, infrastructures, and lived realities of state-sanctioned violence in America.
She holds an MFA in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA from Parsons School of Design. Herr has presented solo exhibitions across the U.S. and internationally and has been featured in major group exhibitions at institutions including Pioneer Works, the Museum of Craft & Design, and the Weatherspoon Museum of Art. A Fulbright Research Grant recipient, she has participated in residencies worldwide, with her work featured in The New York Times, Hyperallergic, and VICE. Herr is also the co-author of five artist books and a co-founder of Daughters Rising, an NGO focused on anti-human trafficking and Indigenous women’s empowerment. She lives and works between Brooklyn and Mae Wang, Thailand.
