(Creative Legion) Unveils Commissioned Murals by Peter Daverington
On October 30, 2025, (Creative Legion) hosted an evening to celebrate three newly commissioned murals by artist Peter Daverington, marking a transformative moment for our Hudson, NY space and community.
The event, simply called the Mural Party, drew members, artists, and neighbors together to experience the unveiling of these large-scale works — each one an homage to the natural beauty and creative legacy of the Hudson Valley.
Art Rooted in Place
The murals were conceived as a permanent commission for Creative Legion’s main gallery and café space, designed to live alongside our rotating exhibitions, member events, and creative programming.
In these works, Daverington reimagines the Hudson River School tradition through a contemporary lens — layering sublime landscapes with expressive, abstract passages that reflect the region’s past and present.
Painted directly on site over several weeks, the murals move fluidly from the geological to the spiritual, blending historic motifs with color, rhythm, and motion that echo the creative pulse of Hudson today.
“The murals transform the space into a living conversation between the natural world and the creative one,” said Mark D’Arcy, co-founder of Creative Legion. “They’re a daily reminder of why we built this place — to keep imagination visible.”
A Celebration of Community
The Mural Party brought together members, artists, and friends to honor the completion of the commission and the creative collaboration behind it. Guests enjoyed music by DJ Sir Shorty, catering by Lavendar Lady Supreme, and refreshments from neverstill wines while exploring the new works in full.

The murals by Peter Daverington mark the beginning of Creative Legion’s ongoing Art at Creative Legion program — a series of curated, and collaborative exhibitions designed to keep our space dynamic, inspiring, and deeply connected to the creative fabric of Hudson. And inviting our members and visitors to take a piece of inspiration home with them.
Through this program, we’ll continue to showcase local and international artists, gallery partnerships, and curator-led exhibitions, ensuring there’s always something new to see — and a reason to come back.
