Grand Opening Celebration at (Creative Legion) — A New Creative Space in Hudson, NY

In early summer, (Creative Legion) officially opened its doors in Hudson, New York, welcoming nearly 200 friends, neighbors, and community members for an evening of art, music, and creative connection.

The event marked the culmination of months of hard work — from renovation and design to programming and partnerships — all in service of creating a home for artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders to connect, create, and share.

Guests explored the nearly finished space and its inaugural exhibition Touching Grass, curated by Good Black Art, launching (Creative Legion)’s first Summer Residency. The gallery came alive with contemporary works and stories from participating artists, setting the tone for the kind of dialogue and exchange the space was built to foster.

The evening also featured live music from Clover On the Mic, a grazing table by Simon D’Arcy, and refreshing non-alcoholic spirits from Sylva Labs. The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce joined to cut the ribbon and officially welcome (Creative Legion) to Hudson’s vibrant small business and arts community.

Behind the scenes, countless hands helped bring the vision to life — from contractors, painters, and tilers to interior designer Michele Ohana Design, and design partners Tiffany Jen and Old Friend. Special thanks to Catskill Photo Studio for capturing the celebration visually and Dia Felix Media for through audio poetry.

The night was more than a ribbon cutting — it was a gathering of creative energy and community spirit. We’re grateful to everyone who helped us mark the beginning of this new chapter for (Creative Legion) and the Hudson Valley’s creative scene.
