Cookbook Club Potluck at (Creative Legion) | Slow Food Hudson Valley & Talbott & Arding
On Sunday, September 14, (Creative Legion) welcomed guests for a Cookbook Club Potluck + Conversation, presented in partnership with Slow Food Hudson Valley and Talbott & Arding. The event featured Casey Elsass, author of the newly released cookbook What Can I Bring? Recipes to Help You Live Your Guest Life, and celebrated food, creativity, and community connection in the heart of Hudson, NY.
The day began at Talbott & Arding, where Casey hosted a book signing from 12–2 PM, greeting visitors and sharing stories from his debut collection of 75 crowd-pleasing recipes designed for sharing—from vibrant dips and sides to desserts that travel beautifully.
At 3 PM, the celebration continued at (Creative Legion), where participants arrived with homemade dishes from Casey’s book for a cozy potluck meal and conversation. Long tables were filled with seasonal, colorful plates, each one a reflection of the spirit of sharing that defines Hudson Valley’s creative and culinary communities.
Casey joined guests for an informal discussion about his writing, cooking, and philosophy of hospitality — turning the event into a true gathering around the table. The potluck also supported local food justice organizations including Columbia Kitchen, Dutchess Outreach, and Long Table Harvest, reinforcing the Slow Food Hudson Valley mission to connect people with food that is good, clean, and fair.
With laughter, storytelling, and delicious dishes passed around the room, the event perfectly embodied what (Creative Legion) stands for — a creative space where collaboration, culture, and community meet.
We’re deeply grateful to Slow Food Hudson Valley, Talbott & Arding, and everyone who contributed recipes, shared dishes, and brought their generous spirits to the table.
